Wintergreen Summer Music Festival runs the entire month of July and includes several types of artists and a variety of activities for friends and family to enjoy, all centered around the Dunlop Pavilion. During this festival, the Blue Ridge Mountains come alive with just about every form of music, from mountain bluegrass to classical, jazz, Motown, and vocal performances.

Are you in town for the Wintergreen Performing Arts?

Wintergreen Performing Arts is a nonprofit organization that hosts and organizes the Summer Music Festival. It features symphonic concerts and chamber music composed by Beethoven, Mozart, and Tchaikovsky. The nonprofit also sponsors many other live performing arts programs throughout the year, many of which are conducted by accomplished artistic director Erin Freeman.

Can you hear the talent?

The Music Academy, composed of talented young musicians, performs at events during the Wintergreen Music Festival alongside the Wintergreen Festival Orchestra and other festival artists. Come out to dance, listen, and enjoy the summer music in person!

Tucked into the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains, you will hear music from new and established artists, including masterworks from the Wintergreen Festival Orchestra.

Red Wing Roots Music Festival

The Red Wing Roots Music Festival is held in Mount Solon every year at the end of July and offers three days of family-friendly music, food, and fun. In addition to the concerts, a wide range of games and activities for kids are available to keep the young ones occupied the whole time.

Shenandoah Valley Music Festival

The Shenandoah Valley Music Festival is the longest-running music festival in the state of Virginia and takes place from mid-July through Labor Day Weekend in Orkney Springs. It’s been running since 1963 and presents a wide range of symphonic, folk, rock, and other genres of music. Over the years, it has seen such notable names as Arlo Guthrie, Bruce Hornsby, the Oak Ridge Boys, and many others.

FloydFest

The annual music and arts festival known as FloydFest is held in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Floyd, Virginia. This rock fest has featured acts like Sheryl Crow, Elle King, Melissa Etheridge, and many other iconic stars! FloydFest offers arts and crafts vendors, food, and several days of adventure near the end of July.

Both are completely renovated and offer features like a full kitchen, free WiFi, and streaming services. They also offer privacy and all the space you need to rest and recharge after a day of music in the valley. Up to eight guests can sleep easily at the Chalet on Green, and up to six people can split the Kickback Condo comfortably. Bring your friends and fill the beds!
